We all know that essay topics often contain personal stories. For this reason, I like to ask them what personal stories they want to share and then prepare questions to ask them. It is important to establish a dialogue between yourself and your students.Students need to feel that they are being listened to. The entire point of participating in a discussion is to learn from others. If you spend the whole time listening to your students, they will forget that they are being lectured to. If you spend a little time during essay topic preparation discussing your own experiences, students will be happy to hear about them.Creative questions and creative and challenging essay topics will encourage your students to participate more fully in the essay topic research. Do not make them feel that they are doing nothing but simply reading. Make sure they are actively involved and engaging in the research process. This will enable them to have more fun in the process of writing an essay.
